We have an opportunity available for an Engineer or Nuclear Technical Specialist - Maintenance at our Southern Nuclear Plant Hatch in Baxley, GA. (Please note: this position will be filled as an Engineer or Nuc Tech Specialist depending on the candidate's educational background.)
The Engineer/Nuclear Technical Specialist is expected to produce a high quality product, be engaged with and perform task director duties for the work force including the Supplemental Work Force. The Engineer/Nuclear Technical Specialist is expected to seek ways to improve the product, use computer programs, analyze data and offer recommendations and provide feedback to engineers and supervisors. This position will be required to effectively and efficiently coordinate various projects and tasks. This position will provide necessary support to, and may fill a role in, the Emergency Response Organization.
Perform task director duties for the work force including the Supplemental Work Force.
Administer craft planning, implementation, problem investigation, evaluation and correction.
Provide general support to the Maintenance teams as needed.
Must exhibit good oral and written communications and must be well organized.
Must perform daily with a safety-focused attitude and commitment to zero accidents or injuries.
High School diploma or GED.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, desired.
3 years related work experience preferred.
Nuclear power plant experience in electrical, instrument and control, or mechanical maintenance related areas preferred.
A working knowledge of preventive maintenance program, work controls processes including work order planning, scheduling and procedures.
A working knowledge of materials procurement, document control, and quality requirements.

Ability to read plant drawings and prints accurately.

Able to analyze problems and provide effective solutions.
Organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Able to work in any environment demanded of the work force, including temperature extremes and elevations.
Working knowledge of codes, standards and technical specifications.
Working knowledge of plant systems, structures and components.
Strong computer skills, i.e., Syncpowr, Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be willing to consider future opportunities as a Maintenance Supervisor or Training Maintenance Department Instructor.
Must be available for reasonable amounts of extended hours, including outage support.
Successful candidate must pass nuclear background and screening.
Participate in Emergency Response Organization (respirator qualified). Regulatory Requirements: Respiratory protection - ANSI Z88.2-1980; ANSI Z88.2-1984; OSHA 29CFR 1910.134; NRC 20CFR 20.103; NUREG 0041.
