CMO Manager
Southern Nuclear Operating Company's Vogtle 3&4 nuclear plant’s engineering department provides various engineering functions to support the site. The department is seeking a Component Maintenance Optimization (CMO) Engineering Manager that will champion site component reliability improvements using preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance techniques and driving PM optimization. The CMO Manager in PM optimization and equipment performance improvements is critical to controlling site maintenance resources and preserving key site equipment assets. He/she is responsible for achieving high-quality proactive maintenance results through effective execution of various equipment condition based monitoring technologies, including vibration, lube oil, infrared thermography, electric motor testing, acoustics/ultrasonic and AOV/MOV analyses. He/she will report to the Plant Support Sr. Manager and be responsible for the following:
Scoping of online and outage work in accordance with associated milestones for components in a manner to ensure high levels of equipment and plant reliability.
Supporting the corrective action program, NRC inspections and assessments, maintenance requests, and identification of adverse trends.
Supporting emergent plant issues as necessary.
Providing leadership and expertise for the site and fleet through participation in peer teams.
Ensuring industry initiatives are aligned with SNC goals and vision.
Supporting continuous improvement at the site and fleet through self-assessments, benchmarking, industry support, and plant evaluations.
Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with counterparts at each nuclear plant site, as well as cross functional peers, to support effective problem resolution and teamwork.
Supporting the emergency response organization.
Executing the manager responsibilities outlined in NMP-ES-007, “Conduct of Engineering.”
Serving as the alternate chairperson for the Preventive Maintenance Oversight Group (PMOG).
Attending Program Tech Team meetings.
Review of sub-tier instructions/guidelines for the Heat Exchanger Program.
Ensuring air operated valve (AOV) scoping and categorization is performed correctly, and well as ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken whenever adverse trends are identified.
Ensuring all provisions of the motor operated valve (MOV) program procedure are instituted.
Supervising and implementing the site snubber, large motor, and relief programs.
Coordinating condition-based maintenance (CBM) activities to ensure that overall site implementation and conduct of CBM is effective.
Prioritizing and reviewing the work of direct reports, or the work of others as assigned.
Supporting engineering duty rotation that may include backshifts and weekends.
Reviewing/approving personnel timesheets and expense reports.
Managing and documenting the performance of direct reports.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related science from an accredited college or university.
Experience Requirements:
4 years of related experience that shall include one year of nuclear power plant experience, one year of supervisory or management experience, and 3 months of on-site experience.
