SITE TURBINE SUPERVISOR - PLANT VOGTLE, UNITS 3&4

The Turbine Supervisor is responsible for efficient and cost-effective planning and execution of Turbine/Generator maintenance work during Outages and emergent issues. They track long range plans and Industry trends streamline outages and ensure online equipment reliability. They are responsible for coordination with Operations, Maintenance, I&C, Engineering, etc. for outage scoping, planning, execution, and emergent issue support. The Turbine Supervisor works closely with numerous vendors and manages budgets and schedules related to Turbine work execution. During the time before Commercial Operation of Vogtle 3&4 some duties in support of commissioning will be part of the duties of this position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Experience working with multiple departments required

  • Ability to facilitate meetings is required

  • Proven project implementation experience is highly preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the plant and engineering organization

  • Thorough understanding of the turbine generator is required

  • Knowledge of modern scheduling practices and software (Primavera) familiarity required

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Form and lead the project team

  • Coordinate with the Site and vendors for outage work deliverables, scope, and team objectives

  • Drive the team to consensus and elevate decisions as necessary

  • Ensure appropriate schedule coordination among all departments

  • Conduct final lessons learned meetings and documentation

  • Provide critical feedback to stakeholders ensuring project success

  • Provide direction and oversight to > 50 contracted turbine staff each refueling outage

  • Lead and participate in periodic alignment and challenge meetings at the site

  • Supervise site turbine services staff

  • Establish and manage project budget

  • Manage scope control process, outage and contractual milestones, schedule, and budget

  • Develop standard outage task/evolution schedule templates

  • Develop standard task/activity procedures or guidelines

  • Some travel is required

  • Responsibilities prior to Unit 4 Commercial Operation Date

  • Support testing of Turbine-Generator and support systems activities for Unit 3 and 4 to support Commercial Operation Dates

  • Support completion of related ITAACs and other turnover actions for Unit 3 and 4 associated with Turbine-Generator systems related equipment

  • Interact with Vogtle 1&2 Fleet Outage Services leadership and personnel to support outage and non-outage needs as available

  • Obtain knowledge of the AP1000 features of BOP/Turbine-Generator activities

  • Obtain knowledge of the Toshiba turbine-generator features

SAFETY:

  • Support a Safety Conscience Work Environment by promoting open communication, the identification of best practices and correction of safety issues.

  • Perform all work with a focus on personnel safety resulting in ZERO OSHA Recordables, Lost Time Accidents, First Aid Cases and automobile accidents.

  • Model situational awareness with every job and NEVER proceed in the face of uncertainty.

  • Intervene when staff and coworkers do not meet safety standards.
